Our no-nonsense pricing


Clients pay for our time, skill and service (and our addiction to expensive lenses). This means we charge by time, not according to the type of event.

Total costs are known up front, except for the price of prints (see below). There are no other hidden or variable costs such as a surcharge for additional reprints. Clients receive high resolution digital copies of the photos and rights to copy and print as many as they wish.

Full digital versatility is standard

Full use is made of the versatility of digital media. All packages come with digital albums that can be viewed on PC from local CD/DVD, and over the Internet.

  • Share an album over the Internet, from our password-protected server.
  • View high-resolution photos on a large, bright 17 inch computer screen.
  • Copy an album - hundreds of photos - for less than a dollar: the price of a blank recordable CD or DVD.
  • Email full resolution photos to friends.
  • View "as good as new" softcopy photos decades from now - no fading, no scratches or dirt.

Privacy assured

We will not display clients' photos in public (for example, on our website photo gallery) without prior approval. Names, places, dates and other identifying information will also be kept confidential if so desired.

Prints not included

As the number of photos cannot be known until after the event has been photographed, the cost of prints is not included. A good average for a wedding is 250 to 500 photos (750 if there are a large number of guests). A small, intimate wedding will generate fewer photo opportunities. A wedding with a large number of guests will generate more.

Digital SLRs are used, therefore "negatives" are essentially free as the memory cards are erased and reused. There is no practical limit to the number of photos taken (enough memory is carried to take a few thousand), only how many are chosen to be printed.

Cost of prints is just the photo lab cost (typically $25 for 100 x 4R, or $100 for 400 x 4R), we do not charge on top of that. Clients are free to make their own prints at the photo lab of their choice, whether now or additional copies ten years later.

Custom printing in a darkroom, by the photographer, is no longer required:

  • Touch-ups and editing of photos is now done on the computer (by us), before printing.
  • Print quality from modern neighbourhood photo labs is excellent  

Most couples will want more than one full set of prints - for parents, in-laws, grandparents. It is difficult to cater for all possible quantities in a standard package.


Clients have the flexibility of purchasing their own album from any shop they prefer.

Digital Photo Frames are an alternative to traditional print albums.

 

Comprehensive range of photographic equipment

While equipment is less important than a photographer's skill (and is no substitute for skill), it is only natural (and Singaporean) to wonder what kind of photographic equipment is used.

We use

  • 4 lenses, to cover different photographic situations. A standard zoom, a wide-angle zoom, and two large-aperture (f 1.4) prime lenses.
  • 3 digital SLR bodies, to avoid wasting time - and missing photographic opportunities - changing lenses.
  • 4 external flash units, normally bounced off the ceiling for soft, natural lighting.

 

Backup photographer


In case of illness or other unforseen events, we do have affiliations with other photographers to replace us.

It is not possible to provide a 100% guarantee in anything in life, but we are confident enough of our backup procedures to offer double your money back in event of no-show or other cases where the photographs are not delivered.

Example

  • Total photography service charge is $300 (what client is billed for)
  • Deposit is $150 (client pays half of $300 as deposit, upon confirmation of booking)
  • Money back guarantee is $600 (deposit is returned, and an additional $600 is paid in the event of no-show)
